Word for Word: Litter
I’m in a writers’ group that meets on Zoom, though before the pandemic we met in person. Every week, we do a writing prompt: someone gives a page number, and our organizer picks a word from a huge dictionary. We write for five minutes. In this example, the word is: litter. You could call it litter-ature.
The little black cat, Vita, rode behind the Maharaja on a litter atop an elephant. Vita felt the call of nature, so she cautiously slid down the elephant’s side, caught a tassel hanging from the litter, and jumped down. She hastened in the direction of her litter box.
