Word for Word: Biceps
I’m in a writers’ group that meets on Zoom, though before the pandemic we met in person. Every week, we do a writing prompt: someone gives a page number, and our organizer picks a word from a huge dictionary. We write for five minutes. In this example, the word is: Biceps.
At the circus, the strong woman flexed her biceps. She stood proudly smiling while a crowd gradually gathered on the grass before her. She waited until everyone was silent, before she pushed one side of a willow tree.
Almost the entire tree fell over, with a great crashing of branches and rustling of leaves. Only a short tree stump remained in the tree’s place.
I am delighted to announce that Cloaked Press published my story “Theater Patron” in Kaleidoscope — A Queer Anthology. Proceeds go to The Trevor Project.
