How dare I cut back on people pleasing and object to bad customer service.

Queenly cat, Cheetah

Misogynists assume that because I’m a female empath, I’m a loser and a doormat. Once I show that I’m not a doormat — by standing up for myself — they project their bitchhood onto me. Of course, this is about them, not be: they treat women like that in general, but I’m convinced empaths get it worse.

They expect women and nonbinary people they perceive as women to toe the line. Walk on eggshells. People-please. As an empath, I have habits of walking on eggshells and people-pleasing. But once you tell misogynists off instead of continuing to walk on eggshells and people-please, they throw a hissy fit and call you a bitch. They stomp off, not finishing the home improvement job for which you paid them. Or they shower you with a long-winded barrage of false accusations, insults, projecting, and transparently obvious attempts at gaslighting. Or they do a terrible job and call you a bitch for reporting them — because of course they don’t want consequences for their behavior.

They want to walk all over you. They don’t want you empowered, standing up for yourself, rejecting their narcissistic bullshit. Of course not. And no matter how much you go through decades of their gaslighting, their verbal and emotional abuse, they continue to believe it’s your duty…
