In under two months, I experienced two unrelated tree emergencies.

The slanted willow tree

Willow Tree

5/16/22

I was planting kale in the shady back corner of my yard because I heard it doesn’t need a lot of sun… when something jumped off the stone wall and startled me. It turned out to be this exquisite creature I never previously met. Lots of pets.

The willow tree is trying to turn my house into Angkor Watt.

Now that the pussy willow in my back yard no longer has a dilapidated shed on which to lean, it wants to… lean on my house. I think I need to make a phone call.

I was in that corner two weeks ago, and the tree wasn’t leaning that drastically. It was easy to walk under it. Not anymore. I’d hate to cut it down entirely, but I don’t want it to damage the house.

I just did some research on Yelp and requested an estimate from one company that has 17 5-star reviews and has been in business since 1993. It’s called James Cummings Tree Services. That would be wonderful if they can make it stand up and support it with a metal pole instead of taking it down. I’ll see what they say.
