The Fascist Attack on Medication Abortion

I just attended an extremely important Zoom event: NARAL Executive Briefing: Medication Abortion: Safe, Effective, in Danger.

A fascist, fake medical organization ironically calling itself Alliance for Hippocratic [Hypocritical, actually] Medicine is suing the FDA in a batshit attempt to take away the FDA’s approval of Mifepristone. This bogus and predatory organization came into existence within months of the overthrow of Roe — like sharks smelling blood and circling.

Mifepristone is safer than Tylenol and Viagra. It’s safer than giving birth. The FDA approved Mifepristone in 2000 and has been carefully monitored all these years. 54% of abortions in the U. S. are via medication abortion.

The judge in the case is a batshit Trump-appointed fascist in Texas who used to head a right-wing extremist organization. Any sane and legitimate judge would reject this bs.

The FDA is national. If these predators succeed, medication abortion will become unavailable on a national level. It won’t matter if you live in a blue state. The process of the FDA re-approving Mifepristone would take months — as many as 18 months.

States that don’t suck would still be able to prescribe what they currently have on the shelves… until they run out.
