The American Nazi Election

Or more accurately, the latest American Nazi election.

My 2017 Women’s March sign includes an excerpt from this Virginia Woolf quote: “As I am a woman, I have no country. As I am a woman, I want no country. As I am a woman, my country is the world.”

I was too optimistic. I should have known better. But I’ve always found “hope is the thing with feathers” that prevents despair and depression.

I thought that surely after the Dobbs Decision — the sadistic overturning of Roe v. Wade and the consequent ordeals that people with uteruses have endured — that even this fucking shitcountry had evolved enough to vote for a woman of color for president. Surely even this shitcountry would put aside its extreme misogynoir to vote for a Black woman president. Many countries have had women presidents or prime ministers, but not the so-called United States of America.

Thanks to the Dobbs Decision and the fascist on the joke of a supreme court (small letters deliberate), women are getting sepsis and bleeding out in parking lots. Republifascist psychopaths have been blatant about being pro-rape — because of course forced breeders have always been pro-rape. They even want ten-year-olds to give birth to babies of their rapists. At least two women in Georgia and at least two women in Texas have died because of abortion bans.

And yet no, this shitcountry has too many cis het white psychopaths who are more than willing to hand our rights over on a plate. The misogynoir/white supremacy/misogyny and of course the hatred toward immigrants…
