Substack Creeper
Substack is mostly known for its e-newsletters, but it has a social media feature called Notes.
In Notes, people with Substack profiles can post even if they don’t have a Substack. I had a serialized fiction Substack for one year and canceled it at the start of November 2024 — it was an experiment. I still subscribe to Substacks and post Notes, usually sharing other people’s posts.
I blocked a creepy POS on Substack, which has entirely too many fascists — which my algorithm usually hides, but once in a while not so much. The name of the account included the word Pilgrim, but this was definitely not about Buddhism pilgrimages. The profile image was of Mark Twain, apparently from a painting.
I had shared one of Heather Cox Richardson’s posts, and this creep was responding to that, praising the Chaos Demon (calling him “President Donald Trump,” which always grosses me out — Dicktator is a better choice) and claiming his tariffs are a good thing for the American people… just because after creating all that tariff chaos he lowered them… and temporarily got the stock market up. It’s in fact been an up and down process, part of the mangled apricot hellbeast’s deliberately distressing chaos. Meanwhile, Wall Street keeps dropping, and I recommend hiding cash around your home.
