So Much for Twitter Feeling Safe

7:25 am is too early to be shaking and fuming because I’m creeped out by a troll.

Why was I already creeped out by a troll? I woke up and had Twitter notifications on my smartphone. Yesterday, after the Bans Off Our Bodies rallies, an organization had tweeted, showing a photo from a rally and asking where you attended a rally today. I shared a photo and wrote “Eugene, Oregon.”

Some fascist replied, “Eugene is a disgrace to Oregon.”

As if! Eugene is a fairly progressive college town. The white supremacists in East Oregon who want their region to become part of Idaho are the ones who are a disgrace to Oregon, obviously.

I replied, “You wish, piece of shit.”

It seems that if you use cuss words, Twitter has a feature (maybe new — or it seems new to me because I haven’t often been directly attacked until recently) that interrupts you with, “Are you sure you want to post that? Most people don’t tweet that.” As if I weren’t replying to a troll. As if I would refrain from telling off this power-tripping control freak misogynist! No, Twit, you’re in for a disappointment.

After replying with… yes, that same response, I blocked that POS.

Sometimes with misogynistic trolls, I regret it if I only block them without scathingly telling them off…
