No War with China

I wrote this as a letter to President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my senators.

“As I am woman, my country is the world.” — Virginia Woolf (quote I write on a sign I carried at the January 2017 Women’s March)

Back when Georgie Porgie told absurd lies (which I never believed, by the way) and invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, I reflected that war is the ultimate patriarchal evil. (I still dwelled in the Giant Pit of Extreme Willful Ignorance — in other words, the center of the U. S. — and it was profoundly disturbing to find myself surrounded by war-mongering lunatics. Not that I previously got along that well with my perpetual-playground-bully coworkers.) The U. S. continues to have war-mongering, white supremacist patriarchy tattooed on its forehead and clearly hasn’t learned anything.

The U. S. has no excuse for building military bases in the Philippines. The U. S. throws away too much money on military spending, which is more than 60% of the federal budget.

Furthermore, building bases in the Philippines is an example of escalating hostility with China and making war with the country more likely. The U. S. is notorious worldwide for being violent, war-mongering, and not a true democracy.

Shooting down the Chinese spy balloon and UFOs was bad enough. It’s standard nowadays for the U. S. and other countries to practice surveillance of each other. Shooting down a balloon is hardly an example of diplomacy.
