My dad and I traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2011 because his sister died unexpectedly. I lived in Portland, Oregon, and he lived in NW Indiana, an hour from Chicago.

Massachusetts, Part 10

Since we’re in this beautiful old town, my dad and I are now being tourists. We’re going to Harvard Yard today to visit a couple art museums. Tomorrow we’re probably going to take the subway to Boston and take a historic trolley tour of the city. So we’re probably leaving Sunday or Monday, and I’m hoping we’ll visit Niagara Falls and Seneca Falls while driving through NY. So I don’t expect to be in Portland before the middle of next week.

The Fogg Museum of Art at Harvard University is under renovation and won’t be completed until 2013. So… it’s closed.

Yeah, definitely closed.

Across the street, the Sackler Museum of Asian and Middle Eastern Art has a few of Fogg’s items on display — a room full of modern & post-modern art. The Asian & Middle Eastern art is upstairs — I took pictures of Buddhas, Hindu deities, and some Islamic tile.
