My writers group typically has a discussion topic for each week, and a couple members of the group are into writing limericks. I am not. I haven’t even been writing poetry lately, and when I have, it doesn’t rhyme. But… I decided to give limericks a try.

I’ll stick to fiction writing, thanks.

There once was a cat named Sparrow,

who wandered the streets wide and narrow.

She met a strange cat

Who wore a tall hat

And carried three piglets — a farrow.

There once was a fascist named Ginni,

she is a traitorous ninny,

She tweeted her lies,

for election surprise,

And her falsehoods sound quite tinny.

There was a traitor, Loudermilk,

He led others of his bad ilk

through hallways like spies

collusion and lies,

While sneaking with intent to bilk.

A gargoyle who owned a hammock,

was taken off to a paddock.

It soon was discovered

This gargoyle had mothered

A ghoul and a ghost and a dybuk.

There once was a greedy old landlord
