Fake Clinics
One of the most infuriating elements of the anti-abortion movement is fake clinics.
I wrote the CDC a letter about fake clinics, commonly known as crisis pregnancy centers. Here is my letter:
You must REMOVE FAKE CLINICS (deceitfully and euphemistically called “crisis pregnancy centers”) FROM YOUR LIST OF LOCATIONS FOR STI TESTS.
Fake clinics are evil, lying, gaslighting traps run by fundamentalist Xians who are not licensed to practice medicine. They traumatize pregnant people with their insane and irresponsible propaganda, lying about abortion. They even lie about condoms, claiming they’re not effective.
It is an OUTRAGE that these fake clinics exist, and they should be illegal. You should supply information exposing them for what they truly are.
These deceitful, power-tripping control freak misogynists are deliberately traumatizing anyone who mistakes them for a clinic that performs abortion. These sickos are shaming, guilt-tripping, and traumatizing women at their most vulnerable.
They don’t fund STI prevention.
Fake clinics do not practice patient confidentiality. Anti-abortion fascists use the data they collect from victims. These fake clinics violate people’s privacy and their rights.
