I exchanged ebook links with a few other self-published authors during and after a webinar on sales and marketing. Here is one of those reviews.

The Witchbeast by Samantha Eklund (2020)

Eklund, Samantha. The Witchbeast. Self-published, July 12, 2020.

Fast-paced Urban Fantasy Adventure

This is full of action and plot twists! It’s a fast-paced urban fantasy series with magic and supernatural creatures.

The world building is well thought out — it’s much like this reality but with both a human community and a magical community. The magics even have their own government alongside the regular one. I like that the magical president is a woman — I guess that means they’re not as misogynistic as humans.

It’s great that there’s a major character who’s autistic, but the use of “Aspergers” is unfortunate, since it’s named after a Nazi doctor. Admittedly, I didn’t know that before 2022, and this book was published in 2020.

In addition to the worldbuilding, I appreciate the detailed descriptions of the protagonist’s process of transforming.

Violet & Steampunk Boy, my favorite book (volume 3) in my middle grade fantasy series Rowanwick Witches (and the ebook I exchanged with other authors), is available here:
