An Abortion Dream

Last night, I mostly dreamed Buffy-inspired dreams, because I’ve been binge-watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer this weekend. But in the early morning, one dream was an exception.

Some color-cordinated rad books, including What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape & Handbook for a Post-Roe America

riIn the dream, I’m a young woman living in Seattle. I’m pregnant and need an abortion.

Somehow I got on the clutches of this Christofascist needledickbugfucker forces birther — a condescending and creepy man, maybe in his 30s or 40s, with light brown, short hair. Very ordinary looking and constantly talking down to me, trying to gaslight me and failing to succeed.

I absolutely am getting an abortion no matter what this creep says and am looking forward to parting with him. A sense that we’ll soon part with each other and I can get on with it — he hasn’t technically kidnapped me. I can escape and know that I shall escape him soon. I just have to be patient and pretend to be submissive for right now, because I don’t want him to get physically violent and restrain me.

I’m in the back in seat of his car, and he’s driving. Like earlier, he’s giving me a condescending lecture, trying to discourage me from getting an abortion. He claims that abortions are taking place at the airport, which makes no sense to me. I’m not sure what to say: getting away from him is more important than arguing with him, and he doesn’t need to I know what I’m going to do. I want him to…
